Our regional American cuisine takes local ingredients and plays with flavor profiles and techniques from around the world. The dinner menu at The Essex does not feature traditional appetizers and entrees, rather we use a ´tapas´style approach. This means small plates are meant to shared; you work down the menu, the size of the plates grow. Eat, drink and be merry!
Retro Happy Hour
As an homage to Chef Colt Taylor's roots at the Saybrook Fish House, we are launching a throw back happy hour menu including clam chowder croquettes, our Connecticut Lobster Roll and House Made hot dogs with a full assortment of homemade toppings paired with some classic throwback cocktails. Daily 430-6PM in the bar!
